The 2018 NFL Draft was held outside of AT&T Stadium and lasted for three full days! As the saying goes “Everything is Big in Texas” and the 2018 NFL Draft exceeded all expectations for all concerned parties.
This year’s Draft was indeed a proud moment for the NFL, and the event itself went off without a hitch. Jerry Jones & the Dallas Cowboy organization certainly left it all out on their home field and pulled out all the stops putting on a 1st class event.
For NFL fanatics the venue featured over 25 games, attractions & interactive exhibits. These included live music, autograph areas, and let’s not forget a Texas-style tailgate experience. The weekend’s fan participation activities also added a vertical jump challenge, a field goal challenge, 40-yard dash vs. real NFL players’; there was even a Hollywood style red carpet for VIPs.
A few of the 2018 NFL Draft highlights included;
- Baker Mayfield is the #1 pick after critics had all but written his chances of going number one weeks before the draft.
- Ryan Shazier was walking out on the stage on his own to announce the Pittsburgh Steelers first-round pick.
- Lamar Jackson was dropped down to the final pick of the 1st round before being picked up by the Baltimore Ravens.
- The feel-good story of the year Shaquem Griffin becoming the 1st one-handed player ever to be drafted into the NFL.
